FireFly Lanterns are authentic Chinese Lanterns. Traditional ‘Khoom Fay’ or ‘Khom Loy’ lanterns were invented 1800 years ago by Zhuge Liang of China.
They are still widely used in the Far East today to help celebrate important events and to bring good luck. Perhaps you have seen them when travelling in China or Thailand at beach parties or festivals?
What are they for?
Well, we think they are primarily for fun, to celebrate, or perhaps to educate!
Our Lanterns are a great addition or alternative to fireworks, so are great for releasing at BBQ's or parties. They also work really nicely at birthdays,weddings or any kind of family occasion.

There is never really a bad time to lauch them - they work in summer at outdoor events, in winter at Halloween or bonfire night and birthday parties. Firefly Lanterns make fantastic educational tool. Kids learn best when they are having fun. There are many science related topics that kids can learn about with a lantern launch, we supply one of our local school science departments with lanterns for just this purpose.
